Win £500 of design time
Simply tell us, in just 5 words, why we should choose you, for the chance to win £500 worth of our time!
If you’ve ever been called on to deliver a punchy headline or compress an hour long briefing session into a single column advert, this should be a piece of (birthday) cake!
This June we celebrate our 5th birthday and so in true party spirit we’re giving a high five to all our existing clients, and we’re extending the invitation to those of you we haven’t yet had the opportunity to work with. We’re offering £500 of our graphic design, web design or illustration time free to one lucky individual or organisation, and an additional 5 runner-up prizes of £100 discount off the total cost of your project.
The overall winner will be the submission that we deem to be the most succinct, funny, creative or inspired entry that makes the most economical use of the limited word count.
How to enter:
Simply comment below with a brief outline of your project, and finish the following sentence in just 5 words for the chance to win £500 of our time.
I think Début should choose my project because…
Interested? There are just a few conditions:
The £500 can’t be spent on a current project or projects have been quoted on or started before 14th June 2010. The £500 does not include costs that we would incur when completing work such as print, website hosting, domain name registration, outsourcing, custom fonts, etc. We will quote on your project based on the time involved and the complexity of the job. Where the quote is in excess of £500, the £500 will show as a deduction off the overall cost. All submissions will be considered; the project can consist of several elements, i.e. brochure, poster and flyer design but can not be spread over multiple projects. The deadline for submissions is 18th July 2010, and so design time will only commence after this date. Projects do not have to commence immediately. All our terms & conditions apply. Details of the winning entries will be published on our blog.
Good luck!

I need the logo and stationery updating for my hair salon, we designed this ourselves a few years ago and it now looks past its best. It could really do with a facelift.

PS I won’t forget my friends when I’m loaded
I am self financing a book called “A poetic and artistic field guide to SHROPSHIRE BUTTERFLIES” which I will launch in “Save our Butterflies” week July 2011. Money, from each book sold, will be donated to butterfly-conservation. I’ve advertised nationally, deadline for submissions is end September 2010, already some exciting submissions. So far, Gillian Clarke (National Poet of Wales) has donated a poem. Katherine Swift (author of Morville Hours) has agreed to write a piece of prose on gardens and butterflies. I have bought/ registered a name for Fair Acre Press but have not constructed the website yet. If I won, I would be keen to discuss with you the best way to use the prize – website construction, book design (at a late stage), fold-up flyers.
I think Debut should choose my project because… poets, artists, butterflies all benefit.
I think Debut should choose my project because… my cat, Fatwans, dislikes Helvetica!
My personal website, dignut.com, was hand-made in iWeb, and I’m very proud of it. But ever since my cat, Fatwans, joined Twitter, and created a web presence for herself (Google the exact word “Fatwans” and you’ll see what I mean), she has expressed a desire for some proper logos and a design rebrand.
She has an eye for these things.
